About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised IT Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of technology projects across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing IT initiatives from inception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
The IT Project Manager will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and senior leadership to deliver strategic technology solutions that support business growth, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of IT projects, ensuring objectives, scope, timelines, and budgets are clearly defined and achieved.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Establish project governance frameworks and reporting structures.
- Manage project dependencies and coordinate activities across multiple teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with organisational standards and best practices.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and steering committees.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues to senior management.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues.
- Develop mitigation and contingency plans to minimise project disruption.
- Escalate critical risks and issues where appropriate.
- Monitor project health and ensure corrective actions are implemented when required.
Budget & Resource Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and expenditure.
- Ensure effective utilisation of project resources and third-party suppliers.
- Monitor project costs and identify opportunities for efficiency and value enhancement.
- Support procurement activities and vendor management where required.
Team Leadership
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including developers, infrastructure specialists, business analysts, and third-party providers.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing project environment.
- Support team development, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
- Promote accountability and ensure project milestones are achieved.
Change & Implementation Management
- Support organisational change activities associated with project delivery.
- Coordinate testing, training, and deployment activities.
- Ensure business readiness for system implementations and upgrades.
- Oversee post-implementation reviews and lessons learned exercises.
Reporting & Governance
- Produce regular project status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Maintain project documentation, including RAID logs, project plans, and governance records.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and IT governance standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager delivering technology projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches.
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong budgeting, planning, and resource management experience.
- Proven ability to manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello, Asana, Monday.com, or Azure DevOps.
Desirable Skills
- Experience delivering infrastructure, cloud migration, software development, digital transformation, ERP, CRM, or cybersecurity projects.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with ITIL principles and service management frameworks.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and outsourced service providers.
- Understanding of business analysis and change management practices.
Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Professional project management certification such as:
- PRINCE2 Practitioner
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- AgilePM
- Scrum Master Certification
- MSP (desirable)
