Job Description:

A commercial and strategically focused Pricing Manager (PM) to lead the design, development, implementation, and regular review of groups  Pricing (pricing, tariffs and commercial terms, for all its products and services, including natural gas, LPG, electricity, oil, equipment and others). PM will develop pricing designs using customer insight, market research and company-held data, which meet applicable regulatory requirements, to protect and grow group revenue and margin. PM will have expertise in pricing analytics and modelling, energy pricing, pricing for acquisition, retention and growth, and how to deliver pricing solutions via cross-department collaboration

Pricing & Tariff Manager Responsibilities

Strategic Pricing Development

  • Design and implement pricing strategies to meet customer needs and enhance IEG revenue and margin through increased customer retention, acquisition and revenue.
  • Develop pricing strategies for new products as group extends its product portfolio, in particular, to include electricity, oil and solar products.
  • Develop pricing strategies for specific customer profiles/segments. Collaborate with Commercial and Marketing colleagues in building a segmented customer base to enable and support relevant sales and marketing, pricing and customer experience activity.
  • Working with Finance, develop and maintain regulation-compliant tariff structures.
  • Make and present commercial business cases for executive approval of pricing proposals.
  • Lead periodic reviews and updates to all groups pricings.

Pricing Research, Data Analysis & Modelling

  • Obtain and analyse adequate customer insight, market research and company-held data to inform pricing design and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain pricing models to forecast customer behaviour, revenue and margin. Use to monitor actual vs forecast pricing performance.
  • Monitor and review competitor pricing developments for learnings and possible response. Look also at pricing developments in other markets for possible transfer learnings.

Cross-Departmental Implementation

  • Turn pricing developments into actionable plans and ensure aligned implementation, which may involve Commercial, Operations, Customer Service, IT, Finance and Legal departments.
  • Work with Marketing and Communications teams to ensure effective messaging externally and within .Support Customer Service teams with tools and training to explain pricing structures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience in pricing and commercial roles within energy, utility, transport and/or consumer services sectors.
  • Strong analytical and insight skills and experience with pricing models and forecasting tools.
  • Deep understanding of pricing structures, energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally on projects in a fast-paced environment.
