We are seeking an experienced and analytical IT Business Analyst to act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying business needs, analysing processes, gathering requirements, and supporting the delivery of technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and business performance.

The IT Business Analyst will work closely with departments across the organisation to understand challenges, recommend improvements, and ensure technology solutions align with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

• Engage with stakeholders to identify, analyse, and document business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings, and interviews to understand current processes and future needs.
• Produce detailed business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and user stories.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements for development teams.

Process Improvement

• Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for optimisation and automation.
• Map current and future-state processes using recognised methodologies.
• Recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance user experience

Project Support

• Support the delivery of IT projects from initiation through to implementation.
• Work alongside project managers, developers, and third-party vendors to ensure successful outcomes.
• Assist with project planning, change management, risk assessment, and stakeholder communications.

Testing & Implementation

• Develop and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans.
• Coordinate testing activities with business users and technical teams.
• Validate that delivered solutions meet agreed business requirements.
• Support system rollouts, training activities, and post-implementation reviews

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
• Act as a trusted advisor on business process and technology improvements.
• Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.

Data & Reporting

• Analyse business data to support decision-making.
• Create reports, dashboards, and performance metrics where required.
• Identify trends and provide recommendations based on data insights.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, IT Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst.
• Strong experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycles (SDLC), Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience conducting workshops, process mapping, and requirements elicitation.
• Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft 365, Visio, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills

• Business Analysis certification (BCS, IIBA, CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent).
• Experience with ERP, CRM, HRIS, or enterprise software implementations.
• Knowledge of SQL, data modelling, reporting tools, or business intelligence platforms.
• Experience within [industry sector].
• Understanding of cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; or equivalent industry experience.
• Relevant Business Analysis certification desirable.
